75 Hour Salesperson: If you are new to Real Estate, you will first need to take a 75 hour salespersons course. New York State Department of State requires all new Salespersons to take a 75 hour course prior to working as an agent. Addition requirements are
--Pass a NYS Licensing Exam
--Be Sponsored by a Real Estate Broker
--18 years old
--A US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or have a Work authorization Card or Work Permit.--
--Never convicted of a felony or have an executive pardon, certificate of good conduct or certificate of relief of disabilities (call LISORE for more information).
30 Hour Remedial (Gap or Supplemental) Course:The 30 Hour Remedial Course is for those who originally passed a 45-hour Salesperson and need to take an additional 30 hours to satisfy the 75 hour requirement to become a Salesperson or a Broker.
Continuing Education: Lisore offers 22.5 Hours of Continuing Education for Salespersons and Brokers in a classroom setting and online. Lisore also offers the quadrennial NAR ethics course in a classroom.
45 Hour Brokers Course: Course for an individual who wishes to run their own Real Estate office or someone who wishes to run a branch office ( Associate Broker). You will need the following qualifications:
-- 2 years experience and a Real Estate Agent -OR-
3 years equivilent Experience outside a Real Estate Agency -OR-
a combination of both
-- Sufficient experience in the field-see chart on Broker's Application.

--Pass a NYS Brokers Exam
--Be Sponsored by a Real Estate Broker if you will be an Associate Broker
--20 years old
--A US Citizen or a Permanent Resident
Offices Seeking Agents: While LISORE does not refer except for government programs, LISORE does provide space for ANY Broker seeking new agents.
